Don’t let the summertime heat keep you from enjoying some of the best activities in Pigeon Forge!
I’ve put together 6 of our favorite COOL activities. Make the most of your vacation and don’t put yourself or your family at risk from excessive heat exposure.
#1 – Brain Freeze! Nothing beats a yummy refreshing treat to cool you down! Of course we all LOVE Sweet Frog! There is one right down the road on the Parkway – don’t miss it. Be sure to check our Facebook page, because we frequently share their coupons.
#2 – Make a Splash! The Pigeon Forge Community Center offers lots of activities that are indoors (bowling, basketball, workout rooms) and it also has refreshing indoor and outdoor pools that will be a sure hit with the kids! The prices are very reasonable, too. The Community Center is located at Traffic Light #2B, just down the street from Asbury Cottage.
#3 – Shop Til You Drop! Pigeon Forge is famous for its many shopping venues. Whether you prefer the local vendors at the Flea Markets or the upscale stores at the Tanger Outlets, you won’t be at a loss of places to shop.
#4 – Island of Coolness! The Island (located between Traffic Lights #3 & #4 at Island Drive) has shopping, restaurants, a large arcade, and more! Take a ride on the airconditioned 200 ft tall Smoky Mountain Wheel or sit in the rocking chairs and feel the cool mist from The Island Show Fountain.
#5 – Head to the Mountains! It’s not exactly in Pigeon Forge, but it’s very close. It’s always several degrees cooler in the mountains and especially along the streams and rivers. Take a day trip in the air conditioned car and then find a nice spot to hike through the beautiful Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Sit under a tall shady tree and listen to the water ripple over the rocks to destinations unknown. Ahhhh, relaxing………and cool.
#6 – Showtime! Pigeon Forge has a variety of shows with times throughout the day and evening. With indoor seating, you’ll be able to soak up the air conditioning, enjoy some great entertainment and many of the shows have a meal included.
………of course you can always relax indoors or on the shaded back deck at Asbury Cottage. 🙂
