Travelers to the Great Smoky Mountains are always asking for recommendations for the best pizza places. Nearly every post mentions these three gems. Each one has a unique offering of pizza flare that is sure to tempt the taste buds.

#3 – Big Daddy’s Pizzeria

Big Daddy’s Pizzeria is a locally owned and operated pizza lovers delight! It is part of the Johnson Family of Restaurants in the area, which also includes Mama’s Farmhouse, Mama’s Kitchen, Alamo Steakhouse, Bennett’s Pit Bar-B-Que, Mad Dog’s Creamery & Donuts, and J.O.E. & Pop’s Sub Shoppe.

The delicious homemade dough, homemade sauces and fresh toppings are wood-fired in a brick oven. The crust is perfectly crispy – just what you’d expect from a 550 degree oven.

The extensive menu includes appetizers (you’ve gotta try the Dough Daddies), salads, sandwiches, PIZZA (of course) and yummy desserts.

There is also the Big Daddy’s Arcade located beside the restaurant. They also host birthday parties!

With three convenient locations (Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville), be sure to make Big Daddy’s Pizzeria one of your stops while visiting the Smokies! Be sure to look for coupons in the travel guides!

#2 – Mello Mushroom

Mello Mushroom is a crowd favorite in the Smokies. The two locations in Pigeon Forge (2485 Parkway and at The Island) and Gatlinburg are always busy, so it must be good!

The Mellow Mushroom on the Parkway is only a mile from Asbury Cottage, so you might choose to walk to this location!

Normally I wouldn’t choose a chain restaurant as a “best” pizza place, but fans rave about how good this place is. Mello Mushroom can be found all over the East and a few places West. Their signature stone-baked pizza and unique décor make this restaurant a must try.

The mouth-watering menu includes “munchies”, specialty pies (including the Great White and Holy Shitake), calzones, hoagies, PIZZA, and sweets (like Mary Jane’s Triple Chocolate Brownie and their Frozen Pops).

J. Del’s Pizza is one of the newer restaurants (opened in 2018) in Pigeon Forge. Located along Teaster Lane and just two miles from Asbury Cottage, J. Del’s is one of the few pizza restaurants that serves by the slice or whole pizza pies.

If you like New York or Chicago style pizza, J. Del’s is THE place to go! They even have Sicilian crusts.
